It's a Small World: Traska Announces Incoming 36.5mm Summiteer
Last week, Christopher Ward announced the release of the 36mm C63 Sealander. It joined an increasing shift to smaller and more compact form factors that's sweeping across the watch world at all ends of the price spectrum. Now, microbrand fan-favorite Traska is delivering a second sub-38mm watch to its offerings.
Available in four colorways, including Mint Green, which has become Traska's signature color, the small version of the Summiteer launches Sunday, August 14 and 10:00am US Eastern Time. Retailing for a very affordable $550, the Summiteer 36 features a Miyota 9039 high-beat movement inside a 36.5mm stainless steel case with a 44mm lug-to-lug distance and a 20mm lug width. That makes it very strap-change-friendly and to help that, the lugs have drilled holes to make changing spring bars very easy.
Changing the included stainless steel bracelet out isn't something most people are wont to do, however. The included bracelet, which features the same proprietary scratch-resistance coating the case sports, is definitely one of the most comfortable bracelets I've ever worn. The links are fully articulating and can be swapped out with a simple screwdriver. The clasp, which is milled and sports a very nice perlage finish on the inside, includes four micro-adjust holes. While I would've liked a Monta- or Christopher Ward-style bracelet that's adjustable on the fly, I can honestly say that I've actually not missed that on any of my Traskas.
The Summiteer 36 will be available on Traska's website on the aforementioned August 14, 2022 date at 10:00am eastern time.
