Preorders open for Straum Opphav Damascus
If you missed your favorite colorway when the Straum Opphav watch was first released (the blue and green dial versions are sold out), you now have a chance to pick them up — with a couple of tweaks — and a higher price.
The new versions of the Opphav now feature a "Damascus Steel" case; essentially, it's a case made from mixing two different types of carbon steel alloys, then exposed to acid to reveal a unique pattern reminiscent of that found on Damascus steel weapons.
The movement has also been upgraded and now features the Elaboré version of the Sellita SW200-1 from the original Opphav. It has been adjusted in three positions to deliver an accuracy of +/- 7 sec/day up to +/- 20 sec/day.
Pricing starts at €1050 or $1096 USD, depending on the exchange rate. Shipping for the Damascus versions starts in August.
