RZE to Launch Kickstarter for Valour 38 | Update: Fully Funded (and then some)
Update: The Kickstarter campaign for the Valor 38 has been fully funded at 500% and then some — and is still going strong. There are still some early-bird rewards left, plus a few of the extra options, so if you want one, there's still time to get it.
While I don't (yet) have any RZE units in my collection, this is one Kickstarter I'll definitely back. In less than 24 hours, the Valour 38 Kickstarter campaign will go live, featuring a watch that looks to be the perfect replacement for the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical I sold off a few months ago.
Featuring a super-lightweight 38mm titanium case, sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, and an NH38A movement, the campaign will go live at 9:40am Pacific time on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.
What's most interesting about this titanium-clad timepiece with RZE's proprietary UltraHex anti-scratch coating is that the super early bird Kickstarter will be available for a surprising $219. Once those are snapped up, the price will go up to $229. Given that this isn't RZE's first Kickstarter campaign and that their previous watches are extremely well-liked, it's pretty likely that this one will get fully funded in short order. Once the campaign is over, the retail price of the watch will go up to $299.
The Valour will be available in five colorways: blue, green, gray, white, and RZE's signature yellow. The 38mm cases will come with matching singe-pass NATO straps though I'd be very curious to see how it would look on a bracelet too.
The Kickstarter can be found here.
Rather amusingly, RZE jumped the gun a bit and sent out the email announcing the Kickstarter a bit earlier than planned. That must have lifted the embargo on review units, because a few sites have already come out with reviews.
Here's Fratello's unit, which speaks favorably of the watches.
If Peter Kotsa's going to review a microbrand, I'm likely going to talk about it. Here's his YouTube review.
And here is Jonathan T's review:
